Be part of a change…something that light’s your soul on fire. Whether that change is personally, professionally, lifestyle oriented, whatever it may be. For us at Lee PT & Wellness, it’s being part of the change in the rehabilitative/fitness industry, it’s being part of the change for Main Street Cairo for the better, being part of something bigger than us individually.
The model that has been used in the past few decades of patient/client care around the rehabilitative and fitness industry as two separate entities is slowly becoming obsolete. We aspire to bridge the gap between the two sides of rehab and fitness. It is no longer acceptable for Physical Therapists to keep people on a table, start to finish let’s say…6-8 weeks of care. You stay on a table, you’ll only be as good as on a table. Yes, there is a time and a place for tables as well as the light weight yellow resistance bands and 1 pound dumbbells, but should these light bands/dumbbells be for the entire episode of care? My question to you is…do you carry a gallon of milk from your fridge to the counter? Do you lift your child/grandchild? Do you go up and down stairs? A full gallon of milk is 8.6 pounds, your child weighs at least 20 pounds, and going up stairs is at least 2 ½ times your body weight force on your knees. So, do you feel a 1 pound dumbbell and light banded resistance is sufficient?
It is not uncommon to come into our NEW location at 467 Main Street Cairo and see most of our patients deadlifting a barbell, squatting with a TRX assist, or pushing a sled down our red turf. All of these examples are functional movements and enable you to return to your hiking, golfing, skiing, (insert favorite pastime here) lifestyles.
Our fitness specialists of our post rehabilitative Wellness Program are well educated individuals that have been trained to not just provide a sweaty high intensity workout, although sweating may be a by product of your hard work during a session, but a strategic implementation of functional movement patterns to not just move but move BETTER and PAIN FREE. Most people end up getting hurt while participating in their workout regimen with or without a trainer. Training with a professional should improve your quality of life and orthopedic health, helping you reach any and all of your specific goals in life.
Not only are we part of this movement, but we also are passionate about being part of the movement the Cairo Development Foundation has to offer. Their mission, improving Cairo one building at a time to bring back Main Street to the glory it once was.
We moved into our new home March 1st 2021 after the outside of the old Cairo Garage had a beautiful face lift. We renovated the interior to provide private treatment rooms to patients/clients and an open space in this 2,000+ square foot facility with high ceilings to encourage an open mindset and fun environment. Your experience begins with walking through the front door to our office staff that knows everyone by name and a small-town family oriented conversation to occur. It is not uncommon to walk into our clinic to hear singing and laughter during your rehab or fitness journey. We offer state-of-the art equipment for patients and clients to enjoy as well as each person having a celebrity experience walking our “red carpet” turf (ok, maybe more like pushing a sled down the turf). Not to mention occasional valet parking when needed.
We take pride in being part of “a change”, hearing patients/clients say they’ve never had an experience like they’ve had in our facility, whether it be a thorough examination by a therapist, maintaining a pain free life with a trainer, or even a personable conversation to be had. We take pride in seeing Main Street filled with foot traffic of potential….hoping for the change that Cairo long’s for.
Be the change….now go light your soul on fire.
